Redcarnations is made up of twenty-four videos playing simultaneously. It uses found achival sound from the 1974 Carnation Revolution in Portugal. The sound was recorded on cassette tapes from a radio broadcast on the day following the April 25 revolution. The recording is a thirteen minute narrative structured into twenty-four hours and told by two alternating voices - a female and male reporter. Much of this material is of poor quality, which I am interested in exploiting in order to explore time, its overlaps and its degradations. Coming soon.
